Happy Birthday with Vera!

What better way to celebrate your birthday than with cupcakes! And what an even better way to celebrate than with Vera Bradley cupcakes! For my 18th birthday, I decided to be really creative, and make my traditional birthday cupcakes spectacular Vera Bradley cupcakes!
 Some of the cupcakes.
I chose the Cupcakes Pink pattern, because it had "cupcakes" right in the name. I printed out the pattern on a piece of paper, and put wax paper over on top. I had previously bought colored melting chocolates: hot pink, white, light blue, navy blue, mint green, and dark chocolate. I melted the chocolates, and then put them in little plastic lunch bags. I cut the tips and piped the chocolate where it was in the pattern. I put the tray in the freezer to solidify the chocolate quickly, and repeated with the rest of the colors. The total process took about 3 hours, but it was so much fun. I then baked the cupcakes, and dyed the icing a bright hot pink. After I iced the cupcakes, put one of the finished chocolates on top. When the cupcakes were all together, they looked just like the Cupcakes Pink pattern!
I also printed the Vera Bradley logo-name, and put it across some of the cupcakes.
For my birthday, my mom bought me Flip Flops and the Morgan, both in Cupcakes Pink. She also got my ice cream cake (I don't like cake! And I didn't eat any of my cupcakes!) from Dairy Queen, and asked if they'd put the Cupcakes Pink pattern on it. Although not her vision (or mine!) it still turned out cute!
My cupcakes, Flip Flops, and the Morgan, all in Cupcakes Pink!
My Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake!
I think my 17th birthday is the first day I started matching my outfits to my Vera bags. I wore a hot pink dress, a little belt with white, hot pink, and dark brown in it, a mint cardigan, turquoise earrings, and a cute Brighton ABC Cupcake Charm. I also wore my new Flip Flops, and used my new Morgan bag that day. The whole day was great! The cupcakes were delicious, and super stylish!

Vera, Rain or Shine

Today I had to go to the bookstore for a book (actually a DVD) for an online class this summer. Since it looked like rain, I decided to grab my Vera Bradley Umbrella, just in case. I have two Umbrellas, one in Raspberry Fizz, and the other in Cupcakes Pink. I grabbed the Cupcakes Pink Umbrella, because I just got a new Mailbag in Cupcakes Pink.
I paired my Umbrella and Mailbag with a hot pink high collared tank, and a navy cardigan. I also wore my cute Cupcakes Pink Flip Flops. I paired the ensemble with a turquoise necklace, that I borrowed from my mom, and a cocktail ring to pull out the light blue in the pattern. Since it was sunny and cloudy out, I also wore my new Vera Carys Sunglasses in Tortoise. All together, I had four Vera Bradley pieces in my outfit: the Mailbag, Umbrella, Flip Flops, and Sunglasses. You can tell I'm obsessed!
I love these Flip Flops!
Rain or no rain? It ended up pouring.
The ring matched perfectly!

A Very 'Vera' Christmas

I absolutely love Vera Bradley, so much that I made my boyfriend wear a Vera Neck Tie to our senior Christmas Dance!
he has two ties, both Vera Bradley.
This dress was one of my very first sewing projects, and to compliment the red in my dress, I chose the Clutch Wallet in Frankly Scarlet. I also bought my lovely boyfriend this lovely tie. The patten wasn't as large on the tie as it was on the clutch, so it was subtle, and not overwhelming, and not too girly.
the patten matches!
We had a great time at the dance, and got sooo many compliments! I also posted a few of the pictures on Vera Bradley's Facebook page, and got a lot of comments! Just goes to show you how many people just LOVE Vera!
